Ceylon - In recognition of its continued pursuit of innovation and excellence, Border Line Feeders Inc. of Ceylon, Saskatchewan, has once again been nominated to the ABEX Awards for Business Excellence.
Since 1984, the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce has given out the ABEX Awards to honour outstanding achievements in business excellence. The award has gained prominence as the most highly esteemed symbol of business excellence in Saskatchewan. Border Line Feeders has already won the ABEX Award for Investment in 2006, and was also a finalist in 2007.
"Border Line Feeders Inc. has worked hard not only to be a successful business but to be a contributing member of our local community," says Ryan Thompson, Border Line's General Manager. "These nominations not only reflect the strength of our business strategies but more importantly the excellence of our staff and the support of the Ceylon area. By doing things that don't necessarily fit within the traditional world of cattle feeding, we have been able to grow and prosper even during some challenging times."
For 2008 Border Line has been nominated in both the New Venture and the Export categories. The New Venture award category is for new business ventures that have been in existence for three years or less and have shown positive performance in terms of current or expected profitability, job creation or entry into new markets. This category is judged on financial criteria as well as the nature of the new venture and its impact on job creation and market expansion, also taking into account the relative size of the new venture. The Export category is for organizations that have shown exceptional performance in exporting Saskatchewan goods or services nationally or internationally, taking into account the relative size of the business and factors such as the increase in export sales or successful entry into new markets.
We have been fortunate to have gathered a fantastic group of people together to drive Border Line Feeders forward," say Thompson. "I would like to extend thanks to everyone for the support, hard work, and passion for our industry that has propelled us to being industry leaders in such a short time."
The 2008 ABEX Awards Gala "Celebrating 25 Years of Business Excellence" will be held on October 25, 2008, at the Queensbury Centre, starting at 6:00 p.m.
