Holy Family RCSSD #140 held their 2009 Service Awards Social on Friday, April 16th in Weyburn. After a wonderful supper prepared by the Captain’s Hall the large group was entertained by the S.T.A.R.S choir from Weyburn Comprehensive School. The S.T.A.R.S. choir gave a special tribute to retiring teacher Gary Cooney who many of them had as a music teacher at St. Michael’s Junior High and St. Dominic.
Master of Ceremonies Bruno Tuchscherer, Chairman, introduced special guests Past Acting Director Del Wagner and his wife Doreen. Shelley Rowein, Director of Education introduced the trustees, coordinators and central office staff. Each individual school staff member was introduced by their principal or designate.
Following this the presentation of awards began. Randy Schiller, Trustee, presented the 5 Year Awards to the following recipients: Lana Bilokraly, Lynn Colquhoun, Erin Doud, Loretta Kot, Corinne Kuchinka, Trina Phillips, Dawn Purdue and Natalie Regier.
Jerome Sidloski, Trustee, presented the 10 Year Awards to Lorrie Bolton, Nicole Dupuis, Denise Guest, Jocelyn Styre and Valerie Vandermeulen.
Karen Melle, Trustee, presented the 15 Year Awards to Michelle Adams, Hanna Keating and Treena Pylychaty.
Trustee Bev Hickie, then presented the 20 Year Awards to Mary Doud, Phyllis Dzuba, Ginette Erlandson, and Jackie Seipp.
Bruno Tuchscherer presented the 25 Year Awards to Donna Berling, Brenda Friess and Eileen Kapiczowski.
Therese Durston received a 30 Year Award and Gary Cooney received a 35 Year Award.
Janice Johner, Retiree, was unable to attend. The Board of Education extends a big Thank You to all those receiving awards for their years of dedicated service to Holy Family School Division.
