Avonlea -
The sound of crumbling rubble was what you would have heard on Wednesday last week if you were in the vicinity of the Avonlea Co-op. Demolition of the car wash commenced by contractor, Dave Byrns, in preparation for the construction of the new Co-op store scheduled to open this fall. The car wash was added to the original building back in the early 80's and has served many a vehicle a shine or two. Although, it was sad to see it go, the Avonlea Co-op looks forward to having a much larger retail store to better serve its members throughout the community.
