Cold weather or not, the winter seems to be flying by rather fast. It's the end of February already and hopefully warmer weather will prevail now that the sun is up earlier to warm things up a bit.
On Saturday, January 31st, twenty-two came to play cribbage. The winners were 1st Mary Hazen with a perfect score of all wins, 2nd Vic Frank and 3rd Ruby Gosling.
Our Drop In Board meeting was on February 2nd with eleven members present. Things arising from the minutes were: The cupcakes for the school will be made by Vivian Mead. A donation to Tele-Miracle will be sent. There will be a card tournament on March 4th. Vivian will get help with the lunch. Marilyn Mead is making the posters. Summer games were discussed and we are interested in continuing with the games in the Badlands area if the other towns wish to continue.
On February 7th, fourteen came to play cribbage. The winners were 1st Ben Hazen, 2nd Walter Gosling and 3rd Peter Rorbeck. February 14th, fifteen came to play cards. There were three tables of whist and three people played cribbage. The winners were 1st Mary Hazen, 2nd Clara Longley and 3rd Jean McKerricker, the cribbage winner.
On February 16th, forty-three people came to celebrate the birthdays for the month. After cards and visiting, lunch and cake was served. Guests at the head table were Jerry Tondevold, Bette Tondevold, Helen Clark, Wayne Moerike, John Leonard, Shirley Hartley and Mary Iversen. Jerry thanked everyone for coming. Hostesses were Vivian Mead and Viola Phillips. Congratulations go out to Helen Clark who celebrated her 92nd birthday this month. Way to go Helen and we hope you have many more healthy birthdays.
Saturday, February 21st, twenty came to play cribbage. The winners were 1st Blanche Verboom, 2nd a tie between Clara Longley and Helen Clark.
Spring will be here soon now that it's March in a few days.
