Radville, SK -
What's old is new again. The Radville Star Embroidery and Signs business has transferred ownership - back to its original owners, George Hay and Sue Bourassa. They have purchased the business from Transcontinental. George and Sue originally began the embroidery, signs and banners business in 2004. It was sold to Transcontinental in December of 2006 along with the Radville & Deep South Star newspapers. When the opportunity arose to reacquire the business, they decided to take it. "It came along at the right time," said George. He was already in the process of establishing his yard care business, and decided to combine the two into one enterprise.
In May they launched their new venture 4 Seasons Enterprises which encompasses both a promotional business and a yard care operation. The promotional side of it is something residents of Radville and surrounding area are already very familiar with. Though the name is different, it offers the same high level of quality and service people have come to expect. Businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals from all over the province have been bringing their promotional needs to Radville for years, and they can continue doing so.
The business couldn't be in better hands. After 17 years at the Radville Star and five years in the promotional business, George is well-known by the community and beyond. People automatically associate him with the embroidery and sign business.
For the time being the business will remain in the same location, at the Radville Star. The building which houses the Star is still owned by George and Sue, and leased to Transcontinental. 4 Seasons in turn rents the space at the back of the building.
In the future George hopes to expand the business. He would like to purchase another embroidery machine, which would increase production and allow the business to accept more orders. He wants the business to be a "one stop shop" for the promotional needs of its customers. Schools, clubs, organizations and businesses can get everything they need at 4 Seasons Promotions, including: apparel of all kinds (which can be embroidered or thermal heat pressed), signs and banners, and promotional items such as pens, mugs, keychains, etc.
4 Seasons Enterprises also offers year-round yard maintenance. For mowing, trimming, edging and any other yard work, call George.
Currently 4 Seasons employs three staff members: Lauren Bouchard is the temporary production manager (she will be leaving for school in September), Janine Mazenc and Tasha Mazenc are both part-time production.
