Eric Chester from Hardy views a display at the Open House. He was the first to donate items to the museum, and he has donated many artifacts in the past few years.
Radville, SK -
On Saturday, August 15th, more than 60 people visited the CN Train Station in Radville. An Open House was held in the early afternoon which was attended by approximately thirty people. Later in the afternoon, some attendees of the class reunion (Classes of '88, '89, and '90) that was held in town this past weekend were given a tour of the station by Judy Dionne. Everyone was very impressed by the station, a response Restoration Coordinator Jeannette Verhelst called "very encouraging". Work on the museum is progressing well, and the committee plans to hold the Grand Opening during Homecoming weekend next summer.
In the meantime, the committee is planning to offer tours to the schools this fall. As well, anyone who wishes to visit the museum may call Jeannette Verhelst or Jay Larsen for a tour. Tours will be available through September and October - until the weather gets cold. The CN Station Museum is run entirely by volunteers, and relies on donations to function. To donate time, money or items, please call Jeannette Verhelst at 869-2907.
