Radville -

Chuck & Albert, a comedic and musical duo, with their roots planted in the Acadian traditions, visited the RRHS on Tuesday, March 16th and entertained students and staff from both the RRHS and St. Olivier's school.

Chuck Arsenault and Albert Arsenault (no relation at all) model their performance after the traditional Acadian kitchen party, (where people sang, danced, clapped and stamped their feet), added a dash of comedy, and Voila!, the Chuck & Albert show was born.

The duo started their show by explaining to the audience how dancing was outlawed in Acadia at one time so the Acadians, who loved to dance, invented "sit-down dancing". It is definitely a real art and one that has been perfected over time. This "sit-down dancing" plays a very large part in their show, as every time they are playing a song while they are sitting, their feet are "dancing" to the music.

As well as being entertained by various musical numbers, the duo also has perfected the art of mime and performed a couple of skits that had everyone laughing. The first skit had the two of them comparing the morning of two different individuals - one where everything goes right, and the other, where everything that can go wrong does. Taking this simple idea and exploiting the simple morning tasks that we all perform shows the talent that these performers possess.

The "5 minute audition tape sent to Cirque du Soleil" allows them to show off their acrobatic and physical skills, which are truly incredible.

The duo are also accomplished musicians, spending time creating musical arrangements for the various instruments they play, including the fiddle, guitar, suitcase drum, spoons, saw and jaw harp.

This high energy show is truly a family show and something that everyone can enjoy. At some point in time during the show, whether you are trying to or not, you'll look down at your feet and find them "dancing" along.

Thanks to the SCC's of St. Olivier School and the Radville Regional High School, and Radius Credit Union who, together, made it possible to book these talented performers for all the students to enjoy.
