Ben Hazen’s celebrates 90th birthday

On Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2012, over 100 guests attended the 90th Birthday Celebration for Ben Hazen at the Ogema Dew Drop-In. Seated at the head table with the guest of honour were his wife, Mary, brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Lil Hazen as well as brother-in-law Ernie Schenher and Ileen Yates.

Board members of the Ogema Dew Drop-In served the lunch. Ernie Schenher was the emcee for the afternoon and invited everyone to join in singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the honoured guest. Ernie noted in his words of welcome that Ben and Mary would be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary in November, 2012, and invited everyone back for that special occasion.

Ben cut his birthday cake and his nieces served the gathering. Ben thanked everyone for coming and hoped they enjoyed the day.
