The Ogema Regional Park board met in the complex lobby on Monday 14, 2012 with President, Carol Peterson calling it to order with the reading of the April minutes. Business arising from the minutes: vents on the outside bathrooms have been installed; timers on the bathroom showers; showers cleaned, repaired and painted; new skimmer ordered for the pools; harassment policy being fine-tuned; new sign for the Park; lifeguards were discussed and the park clean-up in April was very successful.

The bottles that have been donated to the Park brought in a total of $1,800 and this will go towards the tinning of the cook shack.

A Minor Ball bottle drive is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th. Everyone wishing to donate their bottles please have them outside for the children to pick-up. Discussion on cleaning the park for the 100th celebration of the Town resulted on the date of May 31st  and if weather doesn’t cooperate June 4th, beginning at six o’clock. A number of things have to be accomplished, new picnic tables built, slide for the children’s playground put together and set in place; grass cut and general cleaning. Volunteers are asked to bring wrenches, lawn mowers, whipper-snippers and their pride and ambition for their Regional Park. Plans are being made for another clean-up just before the big weekend on June 25th starting at six o’clock.

We have two Minor ball teams this year. Some of the uniforms are missing so we are asking that parents check their child’s closet for any uniforms. Uniforms not being used are asked to be returned to Ogema Agencies as soon as possible.

A caretaker has been hired for the summer months to make certain the bathrooms and showers are kept clean.

Campsites are being increased with many being occupied at the present with highway construction crews. Fifty-five sites have been booked for the 100th anniversary celebration.

The board set prices for daily camping, auction sales, concerts, weddings, reunions, community events/ fundraisers and picnic tables.

Pool cleanup will take place on June 6th and 7th starting a five o’clock. The planting of the flower beds will take place on June 12th starting at six o’clock. Volunteers are asked to bring trowels.

The Park will be catering to a reunion on the weekend of July 14th and 15th with supper on Saturday night and breakfast on the Sunday morning.
