Construction of the New Health Centre in Radville continues. The cement work is being completed and they will be proceeding with the structural steel. Ledcor, the general contractor on the project, has indicated that there are opportunities for additional general labourers on the site. If anyone is looking for this type of work, they can contact the Foundation office at (306) 869-3305 for information on who to talk to.
Fundraising for the new facility continues to go well. The 2012 RDHCF Dinner & Auction held on Saturday, April 14th, raised $150,000.00 thanks to the generous support of the businesses and individuals from the area. We’d like to make special mention of the terrific job our auctioneer, Farron Ward, does for us every year and of all the volunteers who helped out that evening. What an incredible amount of money to raise at an event.
Of the Foundation’s $6,000,000.00 goal, to date, $4,250,000.00 has been raised. As well as donations, bequests, lotteries, memorials, grain donations, events, room sponsors, etc, this number includes funds received by the Foundation from the yearly commitments provided by the Towns, Villages and Rural Municipalities who have agreed to help fund the new Health Centre. We would like to mention that the R.M. of Lomond choose to make a generous, lump sum donation of $600,000.00, significantly more than was asked of them, towards the new facility and we are extremely grateful to them for that.
The “Sponsor-a-Room” campaign is ongoing. Sixteen (16) of the rooms in the new facility have been sponsored. The remaining rooms range from $20,000.00 to $100,000.00 each. If you, your business or your family wish to sponsor a room, complete with naming rights, please contact the Foundation office.
The Foundation would like to thank everyone for their continued support to make the new Health Centre a reality. What a difference it is going to make to the entire community.
