On Saturday November 5th, the Radville 4-H Field Crops Club held their 3rd Annual Achievement Day and it just gets bigger and better every year. The members each had a table to set up their displays.
Their displays consisted of pictures of their crop throughout the year, other 4-H activities they took part in, a sample of their harvested crop and some very interesting information they had researched about their crop. Mr. Claude Carles was our judge for the day, he asked each member to discuss their display with him and tell him what they enjoyed and learned this year.
By noon there were over 45 people in the gym who, after looking at all the informative displays joined us for a very delicious meal, made mostly out of the crops the members grew this year. We served lentil chilli, macaroni salad, baked soy beans, flax buns, soy bean medley dip, kamut bread, brown mustard seed bread, chocolate lentil cupcakes, kamut cookies, flax crackers, flax squares and chocolate chip flax cookies.
After lunch the members were presented with awards in the following categories: Public speaking; Clover bud - Carter Carles, Junior – Austen Carles, Intermediate - Lane Carles. Best Kept Record Book; Cloverbud – Carter Carles, Junior – Cassidy Vermeulen, Intermediate – Lane Carles. Best Display; Cloverbud – Carter Carles, Junior – Austen Carles, Intermediate – Lane Carles. Best Plot Presentation; Cloverbud – Carter Carles, Junior – Cassidy Vermeulen, Intermediate – Lane Carles.
We would like to thank Mr Claude Carles for being our judge this year and to all our award sponsors who made the day extra special for our members. If you would like to join our club please call our club leader; Carey Carles.
