Tuesday evening, February 12, 2013 once again had the members of St. Luke’s Lutheran congregation serving up pancakes, sausages and scrambled eggs for their annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper. A good crowd attended the event that kept the cooks flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs, the sausages were pre-cooked so no big problem there.
Shrove Tuesday is the day when Christians around the world clean out their cupboards in preparation for the beginning of the Lenten season; a time of fasting and repentance in journeying with Christ to the cross and then the glorious celebration of his resurrection on Easter Sunday. Patrons enjoyed their pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages at the Lutheran Shrove Tuesday pancake supper.
