The Nats are back!

After a twelve year Senior Hockey hiatus, the Radville Nationals have been resurrected! Rene Bourassa and Doug Kaip have been working for the past several years to find a league willing to accept Radville’s bid to resume play.

On April 17th, Doug attended the QVHL spring meeting and gave a convincing presentation as to why the Radville Nats can and should be back in action. Doug explained that Radville has a rich hockey history and that the time is right for us to get our team back. He talked about how Radville and area has had some good economic times, we have good schools, a new hospital, and great community growth. He noted that Radville has had many local young men with some very good hockey experience who have returned or stayed in the Radville area. Therefore, we will be able to ice a very competitive team with a lot of home town guys.

He demonstrated, with confidence, that Radville has a strong history of community support and that we would be an asset to the QVHL. Radville was notified the very next day that our bid to begin play in the QVHL was accepted with a three year probationary period.

Over the next few weeks, Rene and Doug hope to establish a board of directors to manage the operations of the hockey club. They are also looking for local support and volunteers in all areas from fundraising to game day help. It will be a big challenge and the support of Radville and our local communities is vital to the success of our hockey team.

Anyone willing to help in any way please feel free to call Rene Bourassa or Doug Kaip at any time. We are looking forward to firing up some old town rivalries and seeing a few red and white nights back in action at the rink - we hope to see you there. Go Nats Go!
