Radville, SK - Radville and area has a new fire truck! The truck was purchased from Warner Fire and Rescue in Moose Jaw, and made possible by joint funding from the Town of Radville, the RM of Laurier, the RM of Brokenshell, the RM of Lomond, and the RM of Lake Alma.

The new truck, a 1991 GMC Top Kick replaces the old 1965 Ford which needed too many repairs. The truck is completely safetied and tested, and will be ready to go this week after it is outfitted. This truck is capable of fighting both grass and structure fires and has two different classes of foam applicators which enables it to fight small oil and fuel fires.

The Radville Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Byron Labbie, Deputy Fire Chief Darryl Ferguson, and consists of twenty volunteer firefighters who fight fires in Radville, the RM of Laurier, and parts of the RM of Brokenshell, the RM of Lomond and the RM of Lake Alma.

Actually, that apparatus is from Freeport Fire and Rescue from Freeport, Maine. It is painted in our colors and I still remember the day we sold it to replace it with a new Pierce Quantum. Just letting ya know.
