Gladmar - For Terry! was the message that the K-12 students, staff, and community members shouted as they began their annual Terry Fox Run/Walk for Cancer Research. Thursday, September 25th, turned out to be a gorgeous day for the 5.7 km. run/walk.
After an inspirational video, everyone started on the route north of Gladmar. They turned west on the grid road and rested at a pit stop before turning south and coming around by the Gladmar Park. After the last pit stop, they made their way back through Gladmar to the school gym for cupcakes.
Congratulations to Steven Kaip who won the Terry Fox T-shirt. A big thank you goes to our pilot vehicles Missy McHattie and Dawna Watson, and our pit stop volunteers Warren Blackstock and Tannis Axten. Thank you to the Grade Three and Four students for baking and decorating the yummy cupcakes.
Terry Fox said, If you gave a dollar, you are part of the Marathon of Hope. Your tremendous and dedicated support raised an amazing $2111.00 in pledges this year. You are truly generous people.
