The Ogema Curling Club held their annual Ladies Bonspiel on February 27th to March 1st. Eleven teams participated, with curlers traveling from Bengough, Weyburn, Regina and Calgary.
Competing in the A Division were rinks skipped by Sandra Fisher, Carla Gravelle, Kerrie Johnson and Judy Myren.
The B Division rinks were skipped by Susan Viergutz, Tanya Leonard, Leslie Gravelle and Donna Jensen.
The C Division rinks were skipped by Bev Klemenz, Jessica Myren and Linda Wiles.
The banquet on Saturday night had a pajama party theme with all sorts of pj's from the practical to the risquÉ. While snacking on popcorn the ladies played games about movies, men and their favourite teddy bears. Prizes were given out for the most original entries. Lots of laughs ensued when the ladies found out how dangerous nylons and fruit can be.
Curling resumed after the banquet while socializing continued upstairs in the curling club.
Final games on Sunday resulted with A event winners Sandra Fisher team over Carla Gravelle. B event winners was Susan Viergutz over Tanya Leonard "Dead Birds" team and C event had Bev Klemenz coming out on top of the "Tequila Shots" also known as the Jessica Myren team . Thanks to all the curlers, sponsors, spectators, caretaker, kitchen workers and committee volunteers for making this another successful event.
