The Ogema rink was a busy place the weekend of March 6th to 8th. The 6 & under hockey team hosted two hockey games. The crowd was treated to entertaining hockey. It is great to see how the skill level of our young stars has improved over the season.
Over at the curling rink the Open bonspiel was in full swing with thirteen teams competing. The organizers were very happy with this response as some clubs struggle to host such events due to lack of interest.
We had curlers from all over southern Saskatchewan as former residents bring their friends back home for some fun and great prizes. Fans were treated to some great curling, just like TV, some of those shots were planned!
The Ogema Curling Club served 117 people a delicious ham and scalloped potato supper while the finals games were being played.
Winner of the A event was Allan Hoag over Lonny McKague. B event was Stuart Leonard over Cathy Webb and the C event was Nick Struthers over Craig Sorensen.
The raffle table had many lucky winners with Milt Lesperance taking the main prize of the Wii. The Curling club appreciates all the support from curlers, businesses and the community members for making this another successful event.
