Ogema -
The ladies bowling supper was held at the Ogema Drop-In Centre on April 20th for a pot luck supper. It was enjoyed by everyone so we had a vote to keep the pot luck for every year to come instead of having Kentucky Fried Chicken every other year.
The winners of the League bowling were the team of Bev McCabe which consisted of Bev McCabe, Clara Longley, Donna Hartley, Lois Birg and Margaret West. They each received a gift certificate which was bought by and presented to them by Wayne Boehr, owner of the bowling alley. Runner-Up trophy was won by the team of Gail Viergutz which consisted of Gail Viergutz, Jean Porritt, Julia Viergutz, Laura Pingert and Laurie Szczerba. The winner of the Ladies High Single - Gail Eden, 322; High Triple - Donna Hartley, 769; High Average - Gail Eden, 203. The trophies were bought by the league.
Roll-Offs: "A" Side was won by the team of Linda Tondevold, which consisted of Linda Tondevold, Nola Leonard, Jody Schmidt, Linda Taylor and Ann McKague. Each person won a tricycle plant holder. "B" Side was won by the team of Arnetta Mellon, consisting of Arnetta Mellon, Dot Snelling, Marilyn Mead, Melody David and Becki Rogers. They each won a garden frog ornament. The prizes were bought by the team of Linda Tondevold.
The Executive door prize which was bought by Jody Schmidt, Linda Tondevold and Bev McCabe was won by Melody David. Also one person from each team won a door prize, which was a pair of cowboy boots plant holder with a plant in each boot. Winners were Linda Taylor, Gail Eden, Bev McCabe, Vivian Mead, Laura Pingert and Becki Rogers. Prizes were supplied by Linda Tondevold's team.
Wayne Boehr, owner of the Deep South Cafe and Bowl, thanked everyone for bowling and hoped to see everyone back next year and he also invited everyone to bowl in the summer league starting May 4th.
