Radville -

Tuesday, August 25th was the final day for the swimming pool in Radville before it closed down for another year. Pool Olympics were held in the afternoon with several kids participating in a variety of games. The three senior lifeguards: Grant Jensen, Aleida Oberholzer and Zach Turcotte all of the games. The kids split into two teams: the Turbo Frogs and the Aqua Knights. =It was a beautiful warm day for the swimmers as they participated in relay races, sunken bottle search and diving board events. The Aqua Knights won the competition and each participant received a mini trophy.

Eighty-nine swimmers came out on the last day of the pool

The final late night swim of the year was held that evening. For $5 swimmers received entry into the pool as well as popcorn and hot chocolate. An additional 60 swimmers came out for the late night swim.

Though the pool is now closed, fundraising efforts will continue throughout the year to build a new swimming pool. The next event will be an Open Air Cinema on September 11th. Watch the paper for details.
