Milestone -

What a great day we had for the annual windup at the Milestone Swimming Pool on Sunday, August 30, 2009. We could not have ordered a more beautiful day. The day started with games coordinated by our Manager, Anna Steve. Anna was assisted by her staff of Kristine Lovatt, Brett Taylor, Shaylene Gallais, Dustin Minto and Shane Cole. The pool was packed with kids and parents and everyone enjoyed the day. The Board presented the staff with bunny hugs that they all wore proudly. The Board then went on to host a BBQ which went over very well. The grand finale to the evening was the Fishing Derby. Every child was able to jump in the pool and catch their limit of goldfish. Big thanks to Wade and Cindy Smith of Milestone who graciously donated the fish. Wade and Cindy are co-owners of the Pet Depot in the Normanview Mall in Regina.

The Milestone Community Swimming Pool Board would like to thank everyone who helps out and donates their time to make our pool such a great place for all ages to enjoy. To our staff - well done and thank you for your hard work. To the town guys - a huge thank you for keeping everything running in tip top shape. To the residents of Milestone and surrounding areas who enjoyed our pool - thanks for your support. To all the businesses and individuals who make financial donations - we are very grateful. Without all your support the pool couldn't remain open.

You all may have noticed some new items at the pool this year. We were able to purchase new skirting around the fence, new stairs for entering the pool, new benches in the change rooms as well as some other items that we will have installed before we open next season. All the proceeds from the can and bottle donation box on Main Street are used to purchase items for the pool so we are very grateful for your donations! See you next summer!
